Programs will be adapted to suit the needs of you and the audience, whether for a specific age range or family. Heather pulls story selections and music from her repertoire and loves sharing in the joy of community and togetherness with her audience.

Examples:

Ages 3 to 6 - "Rhythm & Rhyme" program including finger rhymes, participation and action stories with a lot of repetition, songs, and possibly a puppet.

Ages 7 to 9 - Stories and songs are more developed, however participation is encouraged.

Ages 10 and up - Favourites include drama and scary stories. They also love a participation story, whether vocal or through gesture and a rap, lively poem or chant. The themes involve a mix of folktales, legends, fairytales, and personal tales with musical content.

    • This is a high demand program that is suitable for a wide age-range of listeners and fits most venues. Its goal is to help gather the audience together to think about their own cultural experiences in life and to be aware of, and accept, our similarities and differences as a people.

School Curriculum, Community Needs, and Adaptability

Programs meet school curriculum levels, community needs and can be adapted to fit an intimate classroom environment, literary reading nights in schools, library programs, and family parties.

ArtsSmarts/Student Success Programs

Heather is an accepted artist for Ontario ArtsSmarts/Student Success programming to grades 7 through 12 in the Durham Region. She offers coaching and inspiration while working with teachers to help students build confidence with oral presentations, which may include poetry, songwriting, and storytelling.
