On Thursday, September 18, we are altering our regular storytelling gathering to incorporate a 35th celebration of our storytelling group!

Members, friends, family, and community members are invited to join us for a special on-stage storytelling and music concert; a 35th Anniversary cake (and specialty cupcakes for those with allergies), fruit trays, coffee, and tea.

Come Catch the Magic! Hear guest elders Celia Lottridge from Toronto and our very own Micki Beck from Apsley share stories about our past, and enjoy live diverse storytelling and music, featuring members Enid DeCoe (Courtice), Doris Cherkas (Oshawa), Dianne Chandler (Port Perry), Jolly Abrakasa (Ajax), Heather Whaley (Bowmanville - guitar), Kim Michele (Pickering Frenchman's Bay - harp, mandolin), Peter Dowse (Ajax), Roberta Anne Walker (Peterborough) and prelude music with harpist Angelica Ottewill (Havelock).

For information about performers, please see https://www.durhamstorytellers.com/storytellers-directory

A Durham Storytellers table will be set up with memorabilia dating back to the 1990s.

Join us as we celebrate our past, present, and future! Learn how the art form of oral storytelling fits "into nearly every aspect of life, from cultural preservation and education to personal connection and entertainment, serving as a fundamental human activity across all cultures and time.”
